Pork is my best friend. I just love it. But it is sad that I don’t make it nearly enough.
I think one of the tricks to a perfect piece of pork it to Brine it. Brining tenderizes the meat and gives it a delicious flavor. If you plan a little bit ahead, you will never have another dry piece of pork again! Did you know that the internal cooking temp for pork was just recently lowered to 145 degrees?
Pork is a great alternative meat to turkey on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know I spend about a week preparing Thanksgiving dinner and I just don’t have the time to do it all again for Christmas. So think about making a delicious easy pork tenderlion for your next Holiday meal. Don’t like my recipe? Head on over to Pork Be Inspired to get some more delicious pork recipes!!! Years ago before our son was born it was our tradition to have pork tenderloin for our Christmas (just the 2 of us before traveling to family). Now sometimes at my parents we have Pork Ribs, or a Pork Crown roast, but it often makes an appearance!

It is a tradition in the hispanic home to roast the pork of your choice in the oven or whole, cooking it outdoors and overnight. The preparations of this pork is a family affair. As a matter of fact everything we cook that day has pork in it. The rice, the beans, the pasteles, etc. Hispanics love their pork. Well the FDA does state “it’s the next white meat”.
I’m serving ham this year. Last year I made a pork tenderloin. Love both!!
Ham is a must have for Christmas or Easter. We loooove pork in this house. I cook a tenderloin at least twice a month. So so good!

We don’t usually cook it, but buy a Honey Baked Ham every Christmas and Thanksgiving. I prefer the slices cooked in a skillet for breakfast those mornings.
We usually go for turkey or ham. I don’t think we’ve ever had pork, actually!
I usually make prime rib or a turkey for the holidays. I do make pork roasts, but not typically for the holidays.
Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Yes – we marinade them in buttermilk
Ham is my favorite holiday dish! I love a good brown sugar glazed ham! We usually have prime rib with my family on Christmas eve and then a ham on Christmas day with my husband’s family!

I don’t usually have pork on the Holidays, but the recipe above looks good. Maybe it’s time for a new tradition.
The pork I cook for whatever is bacon and sausage.
I make roasted pork tenderloin almost every other week. It’s the easiest thing to bake and the left overs are delicious. Hm…I don’t normally prepare pork for the holiday, just the Honey glazed ham, if that counts. 🙂 But I think a roasted pork tenderloin would be nice to serve on holidays too. Thanks for the idea.
