Are you all liking my “Favorite Things Thursday” Segment? I need some feedback, I certainly don’t want to continue something if you don’t like it. But if you love it, I will keep doing them.
So, I love me some hamburgers. And my family says I make the “Best Hamburgers Ever”
They are really quite simple. A good quality ground chuck and lots of coarse Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper. I don’t put any seasonings in my hamburgers, in my opinion they are the best when you can actually taste the beef, not masked with a bunch of other stuff. You might as well make a meatloaf if you add a billion things to them.
Anyway, another one of my tricks to the perfect burger is my cheapy Burger Press. One might think it is another kitchen gadget, but I will not make a burger without it! My burgers never shrink and never turn into little meatballs all because of this little plastic press.
I have no clue where I purchased it, I have had it forever, but I found a similar one here. Ummm,yeah..it’s like $4!!!
I also like nice and fat burgers, so I make them big!
Get your ground chuck, roll it in a ball and put it on the press
Take the top of the press and press down hard.
And there you have it..a PERFECTLY formed burger that will not shrink or change shape when cooked!!!!!

I have always wondered if they were worth it. Totally getting one!
Please keep doing these posts! I love them. (Used Bar Keepers Friend the other day with fabulous results and have told everyone I know about it. )
Please keep doing your Favorite Things Thursday posts. I can’t wait to try the heel balm! I’m in Texas and wear flip flops and sandals almost year-round, even at the office! Thank you!
I need one of those ASAP.
Ok…this is getting weird as so far I have EVERYTHING that you have featured on your favorite things Thursday! I feel like we’re some kinda soul sisters or somethin 🙂 YES! I LOVE this patty maker too! My husband makes Juicy Lucy’s by smashing a hunk of chedder cheese in between 2 patties prior to grilling so this makes that task sooo easy! I honestly think I found mine at the grocery store… PLEASE keep highlighting your favorite things, one of these Thursdays you might just have something I don’t but I’m sure I need 🙂
This is a girls best friend when making hamburgers 🙂 It keeps your hands clean and your burgers look and turn out perfect every time!
Yes! Keep posting your favorite things!
keep up the favorite things thursdays. I love learning new things. I love this tool just because it makes sure you get the same size every time. I don’t have one but really want one.
We have a similar thing like that and my husband loves it. I never remember to get it out. 😉
Please keep up the Thursday posts!
I always wondered of those were worth it…I’m going to have to grab one! 🙂
Please keep posting your favorite things. Besides being educational, it satisfies that nosey part of me that likes to see what other people do in their houses.
YES! Love the favorite things 🙂
I too use one of these & have for years. However, I put a long pc of plastic wrap across before putting the hamburger on it & then fold over the wrap to keep it from sticking to the press. Then after pressing it I remove the burger (covered in the wrap) & place the bottom part of the press on top & again press & flatten with my hand to the thickness I want as well as drawing a finger around the edge to even the edge to make a perfect burger. This is without getting your fingers sticky nor the burger press. Course we toast the larger buns to hold these super-size burgers.
My dad gave me one of these. The package said is was called “Miss Beefy” It made me laugh, but I really do love it.
Whoa, those are cool! I need one!
I like Favorite Things Thursday! And hamburgers.
I like your Favorite Things Thursday. And, I would love to have one of these hamburger presses!! I’m making hamburgers tonight. Well, actually my husband it ;0)
I love these posts! Chances are, if I don’t already have the thing you are posting about, I totally should! …like this hamburger press! I always end up making something less hands-on with the ground beef because I don’t feel like mushing it into patties that are going to be uneven anyways haha
I LOVE reading about your favorite things! I’ve already bought the heel balm and look forward to future favorites! Love your blog!
