Ok..what you are gazing upon is the most delicious Ice Cream I have ever tasted in my life.
Let me tell you where it all began. I was stalking one of my favorite food blogs, My Baking Addiction and she had this most amazing Key Lime Ice cream…I was instantly transported to circa 2007.
2007 was when I was UBER fit. Worked out 2 hours a day, ate tuna 24/7 and was rocking a rock hard perfect body.
I took my husband down to Key West for Fantasy Fest. Never heard of it? You can see what it is all about here. Let’s just say you leave you inhibitions at home( along with your clothes). One night, in one of our drunken stuppers , we got a FROZEN CHOCOLATE COVERED KEY LIME PIE ON A STICK! It might should weird, but let me tell you it is anything but.
That one chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick sent me into a downward spiral of eating whatever I wanted and banning working out. Yes, that one thing triggered my bad habits….it’s that good.
Back to 2011 we are (have a fun trip?) So here we are, no more perfect body…far from it indeed. I have come to the realization that I LOVE food too much to eat tuna for the rest of my life, but I look back at pictures and say, “Damn, I looked good.” Oh well. Now I just say, “I gotta feed this figure!”
So my ice cream was created from seeing Jamie at My baking addictions Key Lime Pie Ice Cream and adding my own twist to it.
I warn you this Ice Cream is over the top. Anyone who has tried it said it too is the best ice cream they ever had.
My sister in law said, “Oh, My God, You need to go sell this out of a truck on Clearwater Beach in a t-back.”
Ahhhhh, If it were only 2007 again……………..
If you don’t have an ice cream maker..no worries here is a good article( again, thank to Jamie for pointing it out)
And if you are in the market for a good ice cream maker..this is the one I use. It rocks my world and it is under $50.

I am not even a crazy key lime pie person and I want to eat this ice cream! An old boss I used to work for made a key lime martini at the company parties it had a sugary graham cracker rim and it was delicious!!
You had me at key lime.
So, my logic here is that I should get my hubs an ice cream maker for Father’s Day so I can make him his favorite dessert. I am a giver that way. First up would definately be this…it looks un-freakin-believable! I am all about the lime and sweetened condensed milk…hence my new addiction to Boozy Brazilian Lemonade. And in the spirit of my new favorite drink, I am thinking I might add a wee-bit-o-coconut taste to it. Put some lime AND chocolate in the coconut, and it is my dream come true!!
Oh my word this ice cream looks AMAZING! I love key lime pie but key lime pie ice cream with chocolate sounds incredible. I have to make this! Thank you so much for the recipe. 🙂
LOVE this flavor combo. You have me craving it big time. Too bad I just started WW again!!
I’m a key lime fanatic…of course, I live in Florida, so I should be!
And I adore ice cream. Can’t wait to try this one…but must admit I’m a bit puzzled about the chocolate in it.
We love Key West!!
Ohh Barbara..The chocolate is amazing in it!
Holy cow! I have to admit, I was skeptical when saw the name, but now am in awe. It looks so good and the list of ingredients is dreamy. My husband is a big key lime fan and I am a big chocolate fan so this is a match made in heaven. Next time I need ice cream, I know what I am making!
It has been so darn hot here that I have been eating ice cold treats like crazy! I think I am going to have to make this one next!
Yum, yum!
OMG! I must get an ice cream maker. This is too good not to enjoy!
This sounds sinful, which is why I love it!
Oh yum Leslie!! This sounds amazing. My husband and I headed down to the Keys a few months ago and I think we had something involving Key Lime for every dessert.
I’m loving the addition of chocolate in this yummy ice cream. Can’t wait to try it!
Leslie–
Thanks for the link love, this looks beyond delish! Love the addition of chocolate!
Bookmarked it. Cannot wait! Thanks for this, I think.
OH NO! Not key lime ice cream too? You had me at key lime…
Oh, no. You didn’t…
I love Key Lime Pie. I haven’t made KLP ice cream in soooo long. I love citrus and chocolate together. Those pics are amazing.
Have just printed this out! Can taste it in my mouth already. Stumbled.
I’ve never had key lime pie ice cream but yours looks amazing! I love all the mix-ins, too.
Cute blog! And AMAZING ice cream recipe! I can’t wait to try this.
Oh my goodness…this sounds like the best ice cream ever! I need to find some key limes asap or I’m just going to dream about this delicious creation!
Very cool. One of my ultimate favorite flavors. Love it on cheesecake but and cream popsicles but now I must try something like this 🙂
Oh my. Seriously speechless.
Holy Yum! This is absolutely mouth watering
Wow!! This sounds so yummy!!! Off to find an ice cream maker!!!
I am SO making this for my son when he comes home next month. Key lime pie is his fave, and he loves dark chocolate. You’ve created the ultimate dessert for him. (My world is frequently rocked by the same ice cream maker that you have.)
Love the addition of chocolate! My kind of ice cream!
Goodness gracious, girl – are you trying to make me want ice cream for breakfast? 🙂 This looks incredible!
Mmm, this looks fabulous! 🙂
I love this post!!! I was the exact same way, but I love food way to much. Well, I did allow myself one cheat day and it was Sundays. But now everyday is a Sunday ;). I’m sure your body is still rockin’ too!! I’m not a huge key lime pie fan, but thinking of it being on a stick covered in chocolate made it sound amazing!! I need an ice cream machine!! Pronto!
What an amazing ice cream!
This looks absolutely amazing!! Perfect for summer! 🙂
this looks infreakingsane! as in OMG I want it right now!!! wish you could ship me some of your ice cream and I’d send you some of the pistachio cookies in return.
I’ve had the chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick and oh yeah…it’s that good. Still thinking about it…10 years later.
It’s this time of the season to dust the ice maker and try your wonderful key lime pie frozen dessert! How many limes are required for 3/4 cup of juice? Oh and I love the addition of graham crackers in the ice cream 😀
Are you kidding right now. Key lime pie ice cream – oh my! I just got an ice cream maker and this is officially the very first ice cream I am going to make with it. I’ve actually been looking for another recipe that uses whole milk, because I have some rolls that call for it? I guess both are making it to my menu this week! Love your story- don’t you just wish we could all have hot bodies for the rest of our lives and eat things like this ice cream and those lemon bars!
This looks great! The photos are beautiful.
