Here is my 4th fondant cake. I made it for one of my sons friends who was having a Halloween Party. (thanks for the business Karen) He requested a cake with a graveyard, pumpkins and ghosts. And again..it turned out so damn cute. Toot Toot(oh, that was just me tooting my own horn!) I should probably rename this cake to MONSTER cake because it weighed 27 pounds!!! 10 1/2 pounds of butter cream..6 pounds of black fondant and the rest was the cake and decorations. This cake was two half sheet cakes in chocolate with vanilla butter cream, covered in black fondant and the handmade ghosts, gravestones and pumpkins were a 50/50 mix of fondant and gumpaste. I had a difficult time getting a good picture of the entire cake. Hmmmm, maybe Santa will get me a fancy lens for my camera!
And I promise, my next post will be yummy food!

Toot Toot! Toot that horn girl! Super cute! I haven't played with cakes yet (not fancy fondant ones, at least). Your cake is lovely!
This looks so good! The pumpkins are just adorable!
you should toot your own horn on this one.
love the stone that says "I am dead"–brilliant. LMFAO
haaaaaay!
Absolutely gorgeous work! I'm a little scared of fondant myself, but you use it beautifully =D.
i also find myself inexplicably amused by the "i am dead" tombstone. and 27 pounds? wowza! awesome work, leslie!
Love the ghosts!!! I started playing with gum paste for the first time yesterday for my "Spooky Spider Cake" and have lots left over. You've inspired me to try ghosts and pumpkins now! π
That is a great cake! I am impressed!!!! Those pumpkins are adorable!
So cute! I love all the little details!
Very Cute!!
SO cute!! I'd be tooting my horn too if I had half your talent!
How gorgeous! You are getting so good at this cake thing.
awesome!!!! you are very talented!
Leslie your cakes are amazing! Love the little pumpkins π
i love it! good job on the fondant. i'm too scared to try it even though i want to.
oh wow what a cake
OMG! Again? You seriously have a gift. But 27 pounds. Toot!
Wow, that's one heavy cake, but man does it ever look great!
Question: How do you pop out that size of a cake easily out of a cake pan without it getting stuck or breaking?
***Multi Tasking Mommy***
The tip for getting cakes out of their pans is most importantly using parchment paper in the bottom of the pans! Cut the parchment paper to the size of the pan, throw it in the bottom and spray the pan with Bakers Joy(non stick spray with the flour already in it)
The trick to getting it out of the pan without breaking is to place large cooling rack on top of the cake and while holding the rack on the pan, flip the cake and cooling rack over so that the cake is now sitting on top of the cooling rack. And as long as you used the parchment paper, you should be able to just lift the cake pan right off!
WOW! This is really cute and pretty π
That is so cute! I love it!! I am still a little afraid to try fondant, yours looks amazing!
OMG…Leslie this has to be the best Halloween cake I have ever seen. I wish I had half the talent that you do for these wonderful cakes.
I love those cute little ghosts!
Spooktacular!
Soo cute!!! I especially love the face on the pumpkin/Jack-o-lantern π
Great job. Feel free to toot toot anytime. π
Love the "I am dead" tombstone and I love that the pumpkins are not all round. I really like the flat ones, just like it would be at a pumpkin patch!
You are so talented! I love adventuring to your site!!!
There is actually a cake like this in a Halloween cook book I received, but It makes grass…To complicated for me.
The is awesome.
Beautiful work! Such a scary cake too- the kids will adore it. (too bad they won't appreciate the effort fondant takes!) You just get better and better!
I love this cake! So fun!
Very nice!

ADORABLE!!!! so perfessional! toot away girl, you deserve it!
I love the "I AM DEAD" gravestone! haha
I just made a "spooky house" according to my brother, and your post reminded me of what I made. Since I usually make gingerbread houses around Christmas, I thought I'd make a haunted house, but I like how yours doesn't have a house and is a graveyard!
What a huge cake! I love what you can do with fondant! I have never worked with it but it is my next challenge for myself! I just love your work!
That's awesome. I think the "I am Dead" gravestone is my favorite. π
Someday I will attempt a fondant cake! But until then I'll just oogle over yours! This is adorable! I love it!
I love this! So smart. This is what I've done so far for Halloween: http://glammed.blogspot.com/search/label/Halloween

OMG!!! That cake is absolutely amazing! How long did the whole process take you!? I bet the kids loved it!
I'm amazed this is only your fourth experience working with fondant. I have short arms, so you'll have to pat yourself on the back.
I snickered over the weight of the 'monster' cake. Cakes covered in fondant look beautiful, but you need a bodybuilder to carry and deliver it to its location.
In any case, I'll have to agree, that cake is darned cute!
LOVE IT!!!
27 pounds…wow! It is so cute! π
Adorable! Also, I hope you all get well soon!
